PALOCERAS GAINS INTERNATIONAL RECOGNITION Independent eyewear label Paloceras continues to gain international recognition following its award-winning year and recent haute couture collaborations. Founded in 2022 by designers Mika Matikainen and Alexis Perron-Corriveau, the Helsinki-based brand has attracted attention for its sculptural eyewear crafted through advanced 3D printing and hand-finishing techniques. Earlier this year, Paloceras designed eyewear for Robert Wun's Paris Haute Couture collection before winning the Best Sun Style – Independent category at the 2026 NOW Awards. The recognition further strengthens Paloceras' position among a new generation of independent eyewear brands celebrated for design innovation and craftsmanship. SAFILO COMPLETES ACQUISITION OF SPY+ AND SERENGETI Safilo Group has completed the acquisition of SPY+ and Serengeti from Bollé Brands, strengthening its portfolio of owned eyewear brands. The transaction includes selected SPY+ and Serengeti assets in Europe, along with the brands' operations in the United States and Canada. The acquisition aligns with Safilo's strategy to expand its presence in the sport, outdoor and premium eyewear segments, complementing brands such as Smith, Carrera, Polaroid and Blenders. Together, SPY+ and Serengeti generated approximately USD 39 million in sales during 2025. Safilo expects the acquisition to enhance its global distribution capabilities while creating opportunities for future growth and operational efficiencies. MAUI JIM EXPANDS ITS OPHTHALMIC EYEWEAR COLLECTION Maui Jim has expanded its ophthalmic portfolio with a new collection of optical frames that combines lightweight construction with the brand's signature island- inspired aesthetic. Drawing on the colour, craftsmanship and relaxed spirit synonymous with Maui Jim, the premium range brings the brand's distinctive design philosophy to prescription eyewear. The collection is supported by Maui Jim's Rx lab services, including High Contrast and Blue Light Protect technologies, developed to enhance visual performance and provide added protection for daily use.
