a setback, however, became the spark for something greater. THE BIRTH OF A VISION In the months that followed, Mr Bolar had an idea that would change everything: Why not launch the magazine independently? With editorial, design and production capabilities already in-house, the dream was within reach. His sons quickly rallied behind him, echoing the sentiment, “Why not?!” And so, in 2001, OpticPlus was born, an independent publication filled with credible information, insightful interviews and relevant content. Behind this influential brand lies an equally inspiring journey, that of its creator, Siraj Bolar, whose path from advertising to optical publishing has been one of passion, perseverance and purpose. FROM ADVERTISING TO OPTICAL PUBLISHING The VisionPlus story truly begins in 1993, when Siraj Bolar founded FourPlus Advertising, a small home- based agency he ran with the help of his three college- going sons. Together, they created packaging, promotional materials and jingles for diverse clients. The turning point came when Mr Bolar was introduced to the optical industry, connecting with manufacturers and distributors of spectacle frames and sunglasses. Designing brochures and catalogues for these clients sparked an enduring connection with the world of optics. As FourPlus gained credibility, an opportunity arose: to design a magazine for opticians that could share industry updates and improve retail practices. The prototype impressed potential partners but was shelved due to production costs and advertising concerns. What seemed like 23 VISION PLUS INDIA EDITION
