RAY-BAN NAMES A$AP ROCKY AS FIRST CREATIVE DIRECTOR Ray-Ban ushers in a new era by appointing A$AP Rocky as its first-ever creative director. “Ray-Ban is more than just eyewear—it’s a lifestyle,” said president Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio. Known for his bold creativity, Rocky will bring his visionary style to the brand, starting with the Blacked Out Collection, a redesign of the Mega Icons featuring Ray-Ban’s darkest lens yet, launching in April. “I’ve always admired Ray- Ban’s evolution while staying true to its roots,” said Rocky. This partnership blends Ray-Ban’s legacy with contemporary culture, pushing the boundaries of eyewear design and setting the stage for future innovations. NEWAI-POWERED FLUID AND GA QUANTIFICATION FEATURES Altris AI, a provider of artificial intelligence for OCT scan analysis, unveiled additional quantification features for Fluids and Geographic Atrophy (GA) tracking on its web platform. Altris AI currently detects over 70 retina pathologies and biomarkers. However, the company said it decided to enhance its capabilities by adding additional Fluids and GA quantification and tracking functionalities, recognising that eyecare specialists frequently work with these conditions. These advancements are designed to empower eyecare professionals (ECPs) with tools for diagnosing and managing retinal diseases. By integrating AI-driven quantitative tracking and progression monitoring, Altris AI says it ‘enables specialists to deliver more personalised and effective treatments. SAFILO AND DSQUARED2 EXTEND EYEWEAR PARTNERSHIP Safilo and Dsquared2 announce the early renewal of their global multi-year licensing agreement for eyewear. Safilo Group is one of the eyewear industry’s key players in the design, manufacturing and distribution of prescription frames, sunglasses, outdoor eyewear, goggles and Dsquared2, the international fashion brand founded in 1995 by Dean and Dan Caten renowned for its creativity.
