CARL ZEISS’ BIGGEST LENS FACTORY IN INDIA Carl Zeiss has unveiled an ambitious initiative to establish its largest vision factory in Bengaluru, India with a substantial investment of over 250 million euros. The completion of the Bengaluru Vision factory by October 2024 will mark a significant milestone for Carl Zeiss India. With an investment of over 250 million euros, this state- of-the-art facility aims to revolutionize lens production, resulting in a remarkable sixfold increase in output. Under the leadership of Miguel Gonzalez Diaz, the managing director of the Zeiss group, the factory is projected to manufacture an impressive 260,000 lenses per day. This ambitious expansion aligns with Carl Zeiss' global strategy and recognizes the pivotal role of India in achieving its objectives. . ETRO, SAFILO INK EYEWEAR LICENSING AGREEMENT The first collection, both sunglasses and optical, will be presented for the Spring- Summer 2024 season. Etro – the historic Italian fashion company, where research and innovation are combined with style and creativity under the creative direction of Marco De Vincenzo- establish a partnership with Safilo Group. One of the eyewear industry’s key players in the design, manufacturing and distribution of prescription frames, sunglasses, outdoor eyewear, goggles, and helmets. “The partnership with a leading company like Safilo represents a further step in the expansion of Etro’s offer to the market, making it increasingly complete and broad. MARCOLIN COMPLETES ACQUISITION Marcolin completes the acquisition of it's subsidary in Mexico. Marcolin, a worldwide leading group in the eyewear industry, announces it has completed the acquisition of its own subsidiary in México, as of today. The Group has been present in the market for 6 years through a joint venture. As part of its greater corporate strategy to enhance its presence in key markets, the Group acquired the remaining 49% of the shares of the joint venture. Marcolin México, from its own subsidiary located in México City, will continue to closely support local stakeholders, while further improving and quickening responses to clients’ needs in a market with a strong growth potential.
