SAFILO GROUP AND UNDER ARMOUR ANNOUNCE EYEWEAR PARTNERSHIP THROUGH 2031 Safilo Group and Under Armour have renewed their global licensing agreement for Under Armour-branded eyewear until 2031. The partnership, initially established in 2020, focuses on delivering lightweight, versatile sunwear and prescription eyewear designed to enhance comfort, fit, and performance for athletes and consumers. ESSILORLUXOTTICA ACQUIRES AI-DRIVEN TECH STARTUP EssilorLuxottica has acquired French AI startup Pulse Audition, specialising in noise reduction and voice enhancement technologies for people with hearing impairments. By integrating Pulse Audition’s expertise in AI software, embedded AI, and audio signal processing, EssilorLuxottica aims to enhance its hardware and software offerings, aligning with its long-term strategy in hearing solutions. This move builds on the 2023 acquisition of Nuance Hearing and underscores the company’s focus on AI and big data to advance hearing technologies. CEO Francesco Milleri and Deputy CEO Paul du Saillant emphasised the acquisition’s alignment with their goals and commitment to innovation in underserved markets. CLEAR SKY CELEBRATIONS FOR SILHOUETTE Silhouette has launched the Clear Sky collection, an eyewear range crafted from SPX Green+, a bio-circular material derived from organic waste in agriculture, forestry, and aquaculture. This innovative material reduces carbon emissions by 60% compared to fossil fuel- based production. Inspired by the Mediterranean ecosystem, the collection features eight vibrant and translucent designs. Michael Schmied, Silhouette’s CMO, emphasised the importance of sustainability in response to shifting consumer behaviour. Global Sustainability Advocate Arizona Muse, the campaign’s ambassador, praised the collection as a significant step forward for the optical and fashion industries, embodying her ideals of sustainable and stylish eyewear.
