CHILE I was then ready to travel back to France, but my friend Laura, with whom I practiced the kayak back in school, invited me to Chile. And I was never one to say no to an adventure. So in September, I visited Laura at her new home in Talca, a small village, three hours south of Santiago. It was really nice to spend time with her. Thereon, I travelled to Patagonia. Being on a limited budget I took a bus, expecting a six hour drive. Imagine my shock when I realised it was going to be a full additional day of drive instead. Shaken, I wondered whether I’d last the 30 hours. Oddly, my first reaction was to reach out to the fragrance that my grandparents had gifted me with. I went on to spray a little bit every few hours. Imagining Mami and Papi smiling over me made the journey so much better. The bus finally arrived at Puerto Natales. I met Anael and Baestien on the bus, and joined them to go to Torres del Paine. Normally this would need to be booked 3 to 4 months in advance. Fortunately for me, though, they had reservations and I could join them on the trek. Even though the trek was just for a day, it was amazing. I then travelled to San Carlos de Bariloche in Argentina for a short stay. Following this, I went back north, to the Atacama Desert. This trip again was really long - 24 hours - but the journey and the view was amazing. And Atacama was incredible. NEW ZEALAND I decided to travel to New Zealand with Margaux and Mathilde, friends I had made in Bali. We rented a car and travelled all across New Zealand. Great travel, fun friends, unimaginable landscapes and some really freezing nights are the memories I have of my time with them in New Zealand. Hiking and camping and just having fun, three weeks flew by before they moved back to France. Then I met Mike and Kelly, the owner of Peel Forest, a restaurant camping bar. I helped them with the regular tasks for managing the place. It was a great experience that lasted a month. They offered me a crazy day of rafting in the Rangitata river, at the end of the trip, It was an unforgettable adventure. Each time I went salsa dancing, I was complimented for my fragrance P A R F U M P L U S 8
